
Ball Mastery – The Square : Facing one way
The square – facing one way is another ball mastery drill that focuses on different ball control movements.
Players will work on moving the ball with both feet in different directions using different methods, all whilst facing the same way.
Moving forward with a normal dribble, rollovers, drag backs and outside of the foot pushes.
Ball Mastery – The Square : Facing one way – How it works
As with all Ball mastery drills, it’s always good to run a couple at the same time and split your group so they can move between them.
Mark out 5 x 5 yard squares with cones.
Left foot first time around the whole square, then right foot on the way back.
Players will start off dribbling forward toward the first corner.
Once they reach the marker, they will move to their right using left foot rollovers.
At the next corner they will then use drag backs until the reach the last corner.
Finally the move back to the start with outside of the foot pushes.
Once completed they will go back the other way with the right foot.
Starting off with outside of the right foot pushes.
Then dribbling forward, followed by right foot rollovers and finishing up with right foot drag backs until they get back to start.
Complete 2 or 3 goes of this and then switch to another ball mastery drill.
