Ball Mastery Circuit Drill – Dribbling, Turns & Skills is high-tempo ball mastery drill designed to improve close control, quick feet, sharp turns, acceleration and confidence in 1v1 situations. Players move continuously around the circuit performing a different technical move or turn at each station before exploding into space and attacking the next marker.
The drill works brilliantly as part of a warm-up, technical session or individual development programme and can easily be adapted for all age groups and abilities.
Ball Mastery Football Drill: Setup
- Area Size: 25×25 yards
- Players: Any number
- Equipment:
- 8–10 cones/markers
- 1 ball per player
Ball Mastery Football Drill: How it Works
Players dribble at speed between each station. At every marker they must perform the designated turn or skill move before accelerating away quickly towards the next cone.
The focus should be on:
- Sharp touches
- Explosive changes of direction
- Body disguise
- Ball control under speed
- Accelerating after the move
Encourage players to perform every skill at game speed rather than simply walking through the technique.
