Passing Drill : Don’t Feed the Monkeys

This Passing Drill is another really fun game, thats looks a lot more complicated than it actually is.

As well as passing accuracy this will teach your players the importance of timing their pass and waiting for the gap to appear.

It will also teach you players about communication and closing down together.

Players a split into 3 groups. Monkeys (x2), Guards (x4) & Visitors ( the Rest ).

Mark out 2 circles. One small one in the middle then a Larger one around the outside.

Place 2 players inside the small circle. These are your Monkeys.

Place 4 players inbetween the 2 circles. These are you Guards.

Place all the other players around the outside of the big circle. These are your Visitors. They should all have a ball.

The aim of the game is that the Visitors need to feed the monkeys by passing a ball to them and getting it back with out the guards intercepting.

For every pass the Visitors get to the Monkeys AND receive back they get one point.

The 4 Guards will be very busy trying to block or intercept the passes. This is where they will need to learn to communicate

The visitors need to learn when is the right time to pass and communicate with the monkeys.

The Monkeys need to be very aware of what is happening and react to the shouts.

Plenty of fun to be had and will teach them a lot more than they expect.
